Professional Development
Offered to professionals with requisite CXC qualifications, diplomas or undergraduate degrees, as well as industry expertise, our professional development programme is specially crafted to prepare competent and capable workers, teachers and trainers for the education system as well as for industry employment.
Our professional development programme provides capacity-building for trainers and employers, and also provides training for professionals with specialized functions, including assessors, curriculum developers and quality assurance practitioners.
Programme participants are supported to:
Up-level their competence, skill, certification and qualifications
Strengthen overall employability
Develop in-demand industry skills which they will be able to take to their next stage of employment or to higher-level training
Freely transition to other HEART programmes
The duration of the training depends on the nature of the vocational area and the courses involved, and may
last anywhere between 1 month and 3 years.
At the end of the training, participants receive National Vocation Qualification Jamaica (NVQ-J) certificates.
